Sub-Par Performers of 2005

After noting some of the best performers so far this season, let?s review some of the ones who have been somewhat disappointing. You can?t spell the word disappointment without mentioning the name of Ron Artest. Larry Bird must be having second thoughts about appearing on the cover of SI with this guy. Trying to repent and still very talented, but he has hurt a team that ?had his back? so far. A player that hasn?t lived up to the hype after signing a huge contract in the summer is Larry Hughes.

Hughes deserve the benefit of the doubt given the adversity has gone through, plus the fact that he is playing in a new system, which always takes some time to adjest. Lamar Odom has so far been inconsistent but there have been enough flashes to still see the great potential in this guy. Brad Miller has leads his team in assists which gives you a basic idea of the kind of season Mike Bibby is having.

Steve Francis has been less than brilliant, putting it mildly. It seems that he cannot lead a team without a lot of help. A lot of people would have included Stephon Marbury?s name on this list. However, I?m not going to. I think that Marbury has definitely been the consomate professional in the way he has conducted himself so far this season, trying to fit in with Larry Brown.
