Possible MVP Runner Ups
On Sunday we discussed some of the most notable teas thus far this season. Today, we decided to focus on the runner ups to receive the MVP award. You can?t talk of this year?s MVP?s without talking about last year?s? MVP Steve Nash. Much like last season, Nash?s has been setting the pace for the Suns. When he got the award last year, some people claimed that Stoudamire was more instrumental to the Suns success. With Stoudamire out from the start of the season, people can see Nash?s value for themselves.
No MVP list is complete without mentioning Elton Brand who has demonstrated that he is a viable MVP candidate and it is good to see him getting some publicity. Chauncey Billups is someone who hasn?t received the credit he should have so far. The guy may not be scoring in the 20?s, however he sets the pace offensively for the Pistons. Considering how improved Detroit has become on the offenseive end, that is saying a lot.
Another worthy name is Dirk Nowitzky who is having the best season of his career is keeping Dallas right on the heels of the Spurs with a bunch of seemingly interchangeable teammates (except perhaps for Josh Howard ? who is really a fine young player) around him.
