Football Fans Vote on their Favorites

The sports betting market is the best tool to gauge the public?s opinion regarding a particular sporting event. As we head into week 15 in the NFL, we though it would be interesting to examine the betting patterns of previous weeks and how they actually panned out on the field. By tracking the ?number of bets? and ?percentage of bets? placed on every match, you can tell which teams the public is favoring.

With regards to Week 14, Sportsbooks all over the web have reported a profitable weekend with most retaining well over 7% of their handle. Scott Kaminsky line manager at Bowmans had this to say, ?Finally the ball bounced our way.? Indy failing to cover was huge as it broke up a ton of teasers and parlays. How they covered I have no idea. The sportsbooks were 7-3 in games with major decisions.

Looking forward to this week, there is really nothing too exciting on the schedule. Either good teams playing bad teams, or bad teams play bad teams. There are only a couple of exciting match ups ? San Diego at Indy, Dallas at Washington, and Atlanta at Chicago. With only a few good match ups to watch, handle sizes will be a slightly down this weekend.
