Brand New Player

No one has been more instrumental to the Clippers? success than Elton Brand. For the second time this season, Brand who is having his best season as a pro was named the Western Conference Player of the Week. During the week that ended in December 11th, Brand posted some impressive numbers that included, 31.0 points, 11.5 rebounds, 4.0 blocked shots, 3.8 assists and 1.0 steals. Brand led LA to a 3-1 record while shooting 54.1% from the floor and 91.4% from the line.

This is Brand`s second player of the week award this season. He also received the award for the week ending November 20 after averaging 25.0 points, 11.7 rebounds and 2.3 blocked shots in leading the Clippers to a 3-0 record. Brand was also named the NBA`s Western Conference Player of the Month for November 2005 after averaging 23.7 points, 10.7 rebounds and 2.7 blocks per game in leading the Clippers to a 10-5 record.

Throughout his career, Brand has been named NBA Player of the Week four times, earning all four awards with the Clippers. Brand first earned the recognition for the week ending December 9, 2001. He was also named player of the week for the week ending January 4, 2004.
