Nets Wish List Includes Two Bobcats
Boasting a 8-9 record the New Jersey Nets so far have not lived up to expectations. The team has desperately tried to acquire a power forward ever since they decided not to bring in Shareef Abdur-Rahim in the offseason. In an attempt to shore up their front line, the Nets have turned their attention to a couple of players currently with the Charlotte Bobcats, namely Sean May and Melvin Ely.
The Nets missed out of May this passing summer as the Bobcat snatched him with the 13th pick of the draft before the Nets could get him at 15. Sean May has averaged 17.9 minutes per game and has taken advantage of the opportunity. May is averaging 8.7 points per game and is pulling down 5.1 rebounds, all while working his back into shape after sitting out most of training camp due to surgery to clean up his knee.
The second Bobcat on the Nets? wish list is fourth year pro, Melvin Ely. After coming to the Bobcats last year in a trade with the Los Angeles Clippers, Ely has proven to be a valuable low post scorer. In 21.5 minutes of action, Ely is averaging 9.5 points and is contributing 5.0 rebounds per game.
