Scorching Suns
The Suns have so far been one of the biggest surprises of the season. While they haven?t been able to pick off exactly where they left off last year, Phoenix have adjusted successfully to playing without Amare Stoudamire while relaying even more so on the running game. Amazingly, the Suns are doing it on both ends. hough most teams struggle with injuries to key player (Heat, Nuggets) the Suns have found a way to integrate their new players into injured players positions, while barely missing a beat.
One of the key factors has been the play of Leandro Barbosa, the teams sparkplug off the bench, who missed this 6 game win streak with a sprained knee. Brian Grant just had knee surgery and won?t see action until after Amare comes back to the team. After the Suns traded away Joe Johnson and Quentin Richardson and brought in more defensive minded players, many people felt that the Suns wouldn?t be able to score in the 100s anymore. The Suns continue to prove critics wrong.
Another huge contributor has been Boris Diaw, who is one of the main reasons for the Suns success so far this season. Diaw has the ability to play every position but SG for the team and he switches between positions with ease. Because of his quickness and handle, he can burn any PF or Center he plays against.
