A Broadhead 3D archery shoot is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 20, from 7 a.m. to dusk on the Cedar River Bowmen`s range, located on the Enumclaw-Franklin Road off Highway 169 between Black Diamond and Enumclaw. The shoot will have 20 mixed targets in realistic hunting situations. The cost is $17 for adults, $15 for young adults, $13 for youths and $5 for Cubs. Pee Wees are free. The kitchen will be open for breakfast, lunch and a barbecue steak dinner.

Tryouts for the local baseball club`s four teams are scheduled as follows: BOWEN SCARFF BULLDOGS 18U, one open tryout on Aug. 16, a very limited number of openings for highly competitive players. Lessons are available for boys and girls of all abilities age 10 and older at the Southwest Indoor Baseball Complex. Players will go through visual acuity drills, and learn about the ``position of power,",", proper stance, grip and posture at the plate.

Fairweather Sports and 5 Tool Instruction will offer lessons seven days a week by appointment. Instructors are Barry Aden (pitching), Romell Mitchell and Luke Hetherington (hitting and defense) and Brian Embery (team). More information is available by calling (253) 891-8377.
