A US soldier was sentenced to 100 year imprisonment, after he admitted to taking part in a group raping of a 14-year-old Iraqi girl, after which he killed her and three of her family members, last year. Three other soldiers were already prosecuted in this terrible affair.

The current law regarding rape in Pakistan is derived from Islamic law as defined by the Hudood ordinance, introduced by former military ruler, General Zia-ul-Haq, in 1979.

Miami-Dade police recaptured rape suspect Carlos Garay after he escaped in a police car last Thursday. Garay, 34, was initially arrested on Thursday, handcuffed and placed in a detective`s car. The car lacked a cage between the back seat and the front seat, and Garay managed to get to the driver`s seat and speed off.

Prosecutors in the Philippines have charged four U.S. soldiers with the rape of a 22-year-old Filipino woman, but have cleared two others who were accused.
