New Sex Scandal Hits "American Idol"
Almost as usual, a new sex scandal has hit ?American Idol?, US TV?s most popular show, but this time it is possible that it will all disappear if the contestant gets voted of the show. Supposedly, nude photos of Antonella Barba, one of this year?s contestants, have been circulating the web in the last days. Although Barba managed last week to advance the latest round, many people predict that her mediocre singing will get her off the show this next Thursday.
The photos, which were anonymously posted, include those of a young woman lying on her back covered in rose petals, posing in her underwear, sitting on a toilet and sitting among a group of topless women on a beach, hands over their breasts. Although the similarity is too close to be ignored, none of the photos have been positively identified. This latest issue may remind to some people a similar scandal back in 2003, when contestant Frenchie Davis was dismissed from the show, following the discovery that she had been posing nude for a porn site.
?We don?t comment on the personal lives of our show?s participants?, said a spokesman for Fox, the responsible network. Celebrity judge Simon Cowell, without a doubt the real ?star? of the show, commented yesterday that Barba?s future should be entirely up to the fans? votes. ?I think it?s disgraceful that so-called friends would sell these pictures? added Cowell. Only time will tell what will happen with Barba?s future, but it seems right now as the fans of the show have her destiny in their hands.
