Fourth Indiana Jones Movie to be Filmed this Year
Steven Spielberg and director, George Lucas have announced that filming for the fourth movie in the Indian Jones series will begin this year and the movie is due to be released in the first half of 2008. It was also announced that the title character would be played once again by the actor, Harrison Ford, despite his age. The 64-year old Ford, who performed most of his own stunts in previous movies, promised that there would be the ?same physical action? in this film as the other three.
The original Indiana Jones trilogy began in 1981 with ?Raiders of the Lost Ark?. Its incredible success at the box office soon brought about the next two sequels, ?Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom? (1984) and ?Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade? (1989). The three movies brought in a staggering $1.1-billion during the 1980?s ? an amount that is also considered huge in today?s economy.
The new movie has taken almost ten years to evolve. Nobody ever denied that making a fourth film in the series was not on the tables, but everybody who was involved agreed that it would not be made unless the script was strong enough. Lucas and Spielberg finally reached an agreement and an announcement was made last week. Many are also wondering whether Sean Connery will appear in the fourth movie as well, after he featured as Indiana Jones? father in ?The Last Crusade?.
