Bob Seger Goes on Tour
Bob Seger, American rock musician from Michigan, best known for his work with the Silver Bullet Band, has began a first tour after years of vacation. Seger announced the tour, on "The Late Show with David Letterman" in late 2006, this has been his third television appearance in his whole 45-year career. Seger, who sold tens of millions of records in the `70s and millions more in the `80s, has dwindled in popularity during the `90s, with his 1995 record "It`s a Mystery" failing in record sales. The times have changed and so has rock n` roll, Seger has been left behind.
"Everything we`re doing now on this tour sounds better than it ever has on other tours," Seger said. "Everybody`s more mature now, and they take it more seriously. There`s also a little more gratitude and gratefulness that we`re able to do it at our age, and it`s wonderful to see and do every night."
Bob Seger is Best known for his work with the Silver Bullet Band, a group he formed in 1974, Seger is a Midwestern roots rocker whose songs deal with blue-collar themes and who toured constantly in support of his frequent album releases. Seger has recorded many rock and roll hits, including "Turn the Page", "Night Moves", "We`ve Got Tonight", "Like a Rock", and his iconic signature song "Old Time Rock and Roll", named one of the Songs of the Century in 2001. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2004.
