Paris Hilton Sues ParisExposed.com
Paris Hilton filed a federal lawsuit Monday, seeking to shut down a Web site that displays personal videos, photos, diaries, and other possessions kept at a storage facility. The Web site was launched last week claiming the items were auctioned off after Hilton neglected to pay the Los Angeles-area storage facility. It also promises visitors who pay a fee of $39.97 access to Hilton`s passport, medical records and other legal documents. According to the lawsuit when the moving company neglected to pay the bills the contents of Hilton`s storage locker were sold for $2,775 to defendants Nabil and Nabila Haniss. They, in turn, sold Hilton`s belongings to Bardia Persa for $10 million, who displayed them on a Web site called ParisExposed.com.
Hilton`s lawsuit called the site "one of the single most egregious and reprehensible invasions of privacy ever committed against an individual." She also said she put her possessions in storage two years ago when she and her sister, Nicky, moved out of a house that had been burglarized. "I was appalled to learn that people are exploiting my and my sisters` private personal belongings for commercial gain," She said.
Hilton is heiress to the Hilton Hotel fortune, and to her father, Richard Hilton`s real estate fortune. She initially became well known due to her participation in the reality series, The Simple Life, and 1 Night in Paris, an unauthorized sex video of her with her then-boyfriend Rick Salomon, which was leaked onto the Internet in late 2003. She has since branched out into many careers, and recently, as of August 2006, she has launched a serious bid at a music career with her debut pop album Paris.
