Drugs the Cause of Smith`s Death
After much speculation and continuous efforts to determine the death of Ex-playmate Anna Nicole Smith?s son, pathologist Cyril Wecht announced that following his ongoing tests it has been concluded that Daniel Smith died from a lethal combination of methadone, Zoloft and Lexapro. He died on September 10th while visiting his Mother in a hospital in the Bahamas, following the birth of her daughter a few days earlier.
The pathologist who conducted the private autopsy Wednesday said that `The fact that we have these drugs and the levels of the drugs overwhelmingly and most logically point to this being a tragic, accidental, drug-related death`. Methadone, is known to be used to treat heroin addiction.
Smith had been reported to be suffering from depression in the weeks before he went to the Bahamas to visit his mother and his newborn half-sister. The antidepressants he supposedly took are commonly prescribed for patients with anxiety and panic disorders. In Nassau, Chief Magistrate Roger Gomez said he has not yet received official toxicology results, which will determine whether or not a jury inquest into the death is necessary.
