Memoirs of a Jeopardy Champ
He might cling often to trivia history too much but Ken Jennings? "Brainiac: Adventures in the Curious, Competitive, Compulsive World of Trivia Buffs, is a well written memoir. The Jeopardy champ talks of his record breaking 74-game winning streak and takes a peek at the world of trivia obsession in today`s culture. Jennings researches the early incarnations of trivia back to the 17th century, and spends time visiting today?s quiz bowl champions and acting as the ringer for a pub quiz team.
Jeopardy has made him a wealthy man, in the year 2004 he made $2.5 million from the U.S. game show and is by far enough money to quit his job as a computer programmer. The minor celebrity who since then has promoted FedEx, Microsoft Encarta, Allstate and Cingular, speaks of his future in the book and describes projects he`s involved in, like how he`s developing a show with "Who Wants to be a Millionaire" producer Michael Davies. The concept behind the show, Jennings tells USA Today, is "Ken Jennings vs. the rest of the world."
