Colorful Barrett Home Up For Sale

Syd Barrett`s home in Eastern English city of Cambridge is up for sale and many are paying the unusual home a visit, most out of plain curiosity. Barrett, former singer and songwriter for the band Pink Floyd, died this past July and his home is attracting huge interest from buyers and fans who have little problem with the house being in a far from satisfying condition. Dozens of people have viewed the 1930`s house with its pink, orange, brown, blue, turquoise and lavender walls.

At an estimated $562,000, the house has served Barrett as a retreat ever since he left Pink Floyd back in 1968. He passed his time painting, writing art history and gardening. He shunned stardom and refused to speak with fans and journalists who regularly paid him visits.

Barret was responsible for most of Pink Floyd`s brilliant first album, 1967`s The Piper at the Gates of Dawn, but left the band in early 1968 after his erratic behavior had made him too difficult to deal with. He left the band before their success with the albums ?Dark Side of the Moon,? ?The Wall? and ?Wish You Were Here.
