Diddy no more

What should a Diddy do if a Diddy can`t be a Diddy any more? That is the question many people have been asking themselves ever since the latest news on the name-changing rapper came in. Following a UK based lawsuit, Rapper and entertainment tycoon Sean `Diddy` Combs agreed to drop the Diddy name as part of an out-of-court settlement with British music producer Richard Dearlove who shares the same nickname. Although sticking to the Diddy name since 2001, Sean Combs has been known to change his name every so often, sporting nicknames such as Puff Daddy and Puffy, followed by P. Diddy and finally, Diddy. Little did his fans know that the name would be changed once again. But to what?

The name obviously will be changed once again. Until that will happen, Combs is dealing with the more relevant issues and has agreed to re-brand himself in the UK and to no longer assume the name for commercial purposes there. In the lawsuit handed to the musician and entertainment icon, Mr. Dearlove claimed that the name had caused confusion and has cited continuous messages he has been receiving from people who requested to participate in his videos.

Combs, 36, whose fortune was last year estimated by Forbes magazine at $250 million, agreed to pay Dearlove`s costs, as well as "significant" damages, reportedly around ?110,000.
