Outrage over Irwin Cartoon Show

SBS, an Australian television network, will most likely air a controversial episode of the cartoon show ?South Park? which pokes fun at Steve Irwin?s recent and tragic death. The show is due to be broadcast this week in the US, and shows Irwin walking around a very fancy and elegant dress party in Hell with a stingray barb protruding from his chest. Irwin, who died at the age of 44 while filming his show from a stingray barb spiking him in the heart, is mourned by many all over the world, in the entertainment industry, the wildlife preservation organizations, and by many fans.

According to the show?s creators, Matt Stone and Trey Parker, when they defended the episode, they ??have offended people in the past and probably will again.? ?We know that regular watchers will not be shocked,? a spokesman added. An SBS spokeswoman said the station had been unaware of the Irwin episode until yesterday, but would review it as part of the network?s classification process. In the episode, there are hundreds of dead celebrities at the party, which is hosted by Satan and includes the likes of Princess Diana, Adolf Hitler, and the rapper Notorious B.I.G. Entertainment fans could either love the episode or hate it.

If the episode is aired, there will surely be a response within the media world and the realm of Irwin?s fans and colleagues all around the world. There is definitely more to this story and will continue in the entertainment spotlight, especially if the episode will be broadcast on public television.
