It?s Rehab for Keith Urban

It seems that the honeymoon is going to have to be put on hold as Nicole Kidman?s new husband heads for rehab. Who would have thought this latest development would have happened so soon after their recent wedding? Battling alcohol abuse, Urban has entered a treatment rehabilitation center. The country singer and entertainment icon, according to a statement by his publicist, checked himself in with Nicole by his side.

?I deeply regret the hurt this has caused Nicole and the ones that love and support me. One can never let one?s guard down on recovery and I?m afraid that I have. With the strength and unwavering support I am blessed to have from my wife, family and friends, I am determined and resolved to a positive outcome,? said Urban. This is not Urban`s first stint in rehab. The singer and entertainment legend sought help in late 1998 for drug and alcohol abuse.

Having a past which includes drug and alcohol abuse seems to haunt this famous entertainment star as he tries to walk the straight line and stay on the wagon. For many past abusers, it is the most difficult thing in the world to do. Only time will tell how this stay in rehab will turn out for Urban. Hopefully he will be able to get through this difficult time with the support and help of his family and friends so that he and his wife of four months can enjoy their first year as newlyweds together without the distractions and temptations of drugs and alcohol getting in the way.
