For Sirius?
As Howard Stern becomes more popular, it becomes harder to listen to him, and not because of his excessive vulgarity. When his show hit the airwaves a few decades ago all you needed was a radio and eventually an internet, which took listeners straight inside his head. But then he skyrocketed into extreme popularity and took his business elsewhere, to the subscription-based Sirius Satellite Radio. And lucky for us, for two whole days (Oct. 25th and 26th) free internet access to his show will be available!
This will mark the first ever free internet broadcast Stern is allowing, through Sirius, and just to convince listeners to fork over their visas, a satellite service such as this offers more than 75 channels of CD-quality programming over the Internet -- without the need to buy a Sirius satellite receiver, for a monthly subscription fee of $12.95.
Under the new Sirius Internet package, users anywhere in the world can subscribe and listen to Stern online without first having to buy satellite hardware, and join the 5.12 million subscribers who enjoy the service. But in all seriousness, the company must charge their customers in order to put some cash aside which will help pay Stern who struck a five year deal with them valued at $500 million.
