Wham! Reunion!
Long before Yahoo! roamed the internet with the almighty exclamation mark, Wham! introduced it to millions of women across the globe and drove them absolutely wild. Now George Michael and Andrew Ridgeley are getting back together, 20 years later, for a Christmas concert at London`s Wembley arena.
The back-up singers, Pepsi and Shirlie will also join the festive reunion and together Wham! will collaborate for one of the most highly anticipated pop events of the year. Apparently, Michael is thrilled that Andrew agreed to the gig, and it is something that he has been hoping for quite some time now.
In 1985 the group split, and Michael soared to stardom, leaving Ridgeley way behind, and although forever deemed as "that other guy", Ridgeley was the group`s image specialist and spokesman, and it was he who forced upon a reluctant Michael that Wham! needed to change their image and sound frequently, from the leather clad moody singers of "Bad Boys" and "Young Guns" to the more fashionable pop superstars of "Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go.", so give it up for Ridgeley!
