Jackass Soars to Top

Jackass: Number Two begins with the screen bearing a skull and crossed crutches and the warning: "The stunts in this movie were performed by professionals, so neither you nor your dumb little buddies should attempt anything from this movie." After that, they perform their insane stunts in a feature film based on their hit MTV series `Jackass`.

Led by Johnny Knoxville, the cast puts on a show that has proved irresistible for legions of teenage boys, racking up $29 million at the theaters, nearly triple the haul of its closest competitor. The flick was plastered across 3,059 screens, where it averaged $9,481. The ongoing escapades of Knoxville and his merry band of pranksters had a budget of $11.5 million, a sum the Paramount release had recouped by Friday night.

As a film it has little value, as it has a poor script and average cinematography, but on the other hand it has people getting gored by bulls, riding rockets, and running around naked in compromising situations. ?Jackass number two" might not be the best movie of the year, the month, or even the week for that matter, but until "Borat" hits the screen, this is the best time you?ll have at the theaters this fall.
