Jedi Have No Force at U.N.

Two Jedi knights have petitioned the United Nations to recognize the Jedi Faith as an official world religion. Those leading the pack were Umada and Yunyun, who called the UN to direct their attention towards the 400,000 people worldwide who practice the Jedi belief as their faith. Further more, they are requesting that the world body rename the International Day for Tolerance to Interstellar Day of Tolerance. Umada and Yunyun said, "For the last ten years the United Nations has marked the International Day of Tolerance. While we support this important work, we feel the U.N. needs to move with the times.

On a global scale, the Jedi faith has reached some startling numbers, apparently there are 70,000 Jedi knights in Australia, 53,000 in New Zealand, and 20,000 in Canada. The appeal was directed at departing Secretary-General Kofi Annan.

Sadly for the Jedi faith, they will not get the recognition they were hoping for, at least not in this world. The spokesman for the Secretary-General of the United Nations said that Mr. Annan would not look into the matter. "The UN is not in the business of certifying religions," said Mr. Annan`s spokesman, Stephane Dujarric.
