OJ Simpson: "If I did it, Here`s How It Happened"
Later on this month OJ Simpson will appear on Fox news to describe how he would have committed the murders of Nicole Brown and Ron Goodman over 12 year ago. Murders he has vehemently denied committing for years. The TV interview will be conducted by Judith Regan, a celebrity publisher. The interview is intended to promote a book written by Simpson, "If I did it, Here`s How It Happened", in which he "hypothetically describes how the murders would have been committed".
The New York Post claims that Simpson was paid $3.5 million by Regan Books. The post`s claim is likely to be true as the Post, Fox TV and Regan Books are all owned by Rupert Murdoch. This sum of money will likely be the issue of a legal battle as Simpson who was famously acquitted of the murder charges in 1994, was found responsible for them in the subsequent civil trial and was ordered to pay the victims` heirs $33.5 million, which haven`t been paid to this date. The Goldman family lawyer said he would explore legal action to cease any profit Simpson will make from the book and the interview. Simpson has been unable to work since the civil trial since any income generated by the former football star would go towards the costs awarded in the judgment.
Simpson has been living a secluded life in Florida off his sporting career pension which is protected from any court action. Reports on the book said that the account of the murder as described by Simpson is extremely detailed and realistic and that readers would be drawn to the conclusion that Simpson had in fact committed the murders.
