Casino Royale ? A New Bond Hits the Theaters

Bond premiers are always exciting. This one must have been extra exciting for the new James Bond, Daniel Craig. But the true guest of honor was HRH Queen Elizabeth II, who upon arrival to the 21st Bond preimier in Leicester Square, London was received with trumpets and an organ as well as a standing ovation. Also to arrive to the premier oyal film performancecharity event where Eva Green, who played Vesper Lynd in the movie, Elton John, Sharon Osbourne and Shirley Bassey, who all sang themes to different Bond films.

Craig, who will be traveling to Australia for the film`s Australian premier is the newest edition to Ian Fleming`s sliver screen Bond`s alongside, Roger Moore, Sean Connery, George Lazenby, Timothy Dalton and Pierce Brosnan. Wendy Ide of the Times put it best: "up there with the best: he combines Sean Connery`s athleticism and cocksure swagger with Timothy Dalton`s thrilling undercurrent of stone-cold cruelty ... his sex appeal is off the scale".

The film was adapted from Fleming`s first Bond novel. This novel was already adapted to film in 1967 in a film with the same name staring David Niven. This film directed by Peter Sellers was a unofficial parody of earlier Bond films. At the premier Craig hinted that he is going to star in the 22nd Bond film saying: "I`m not looking beyond the next one ... but I`m very excited about starting the next film next year,"
