Anna Nicole Smith, Recovering from Pneumonia, Returns Home

?If it doesn?t rain, it pours?, as the old saying goes. That is what it seems like when we read about the life of actress and tabloid celebrity, Anna Nicole Smith. Even after Smith left the United States for the Bahamas to give birth to her daughter, the media was hot on her heels and she has certainly kept them working overtime since her arrival. The latest in the Smith Saga is that the star was released from hospital after a bout with pneumonia and a collapsed lung.

Anna Nicole Smith, a reality TV star, first made headlines over a legal battles between herself and her late husband?s son from a previous marriage over his estate. Smith, pregnant with her daughter from another relationship, moved earlier this year to the Bahamas with long time companion and lawyer, Howard Stern. When the child was born, Smith registered Stern as the father, however she was soon faced with an order by a man, who alleges that he is the girl?s real father, to perform a DNA test. To date, Smith refuses to cooperate with the law.

In a tragic twist of events, Smith?s 20 year old son, Daniel, from a previous relationship collapsed and died at her bedside, 3 days after she gave birth to Dannielynne. A private pathologist noted that the young man died from an accidental combination of methadone and antidepressants. Smith recently returned to the same hospital where she gave birth to her daughter and watched her son die, this time complaining with a painful side. Doctors diagnosed her as suffering from pneumonia and she was treated for a week before being sent home.
