Kylie Minogue Wows the Crowds in Sydney

After a long and tiring battle with breast cancer, pop icon, Kylie Minogue has finally returned to resume the final leg of her ?Showgirl Tour?, 18 months after she was forced to abandon it to treat the disease. In an electrifying performance in Sydney?s Opera House, Minogue wowed the crowds with songs spanning from her 20 year career as a singer.

In May of last year, during her world tour of ?Showgirl?, Minogue discovered a lump in her breast and two days later, she had surgery and began an exhaustive round of chemotherapy. Although she claims she is still lacking energy and is not as fit as she used to be, Minogue was still able to perform several energetic numbers up on stage and change into a multitude of stunning costumes in a very short period of time. In fact, the theatrical element of the show was created, in part, by the costumes designed for her by Karl Lagerfeld, John Galliano and Emilio Pucci.

Kylie Minogue will play 20 concerts in Australia before moving on to the United Kingdom to greet the New Year. The standard format of the show remains the same from the original ?Showgirl? performance, although some changes needed to be made to meet Minogue?s dropped energy and fitness levels. The star still receives chemotherapy to keep the breast cancer at bay, although she finished her intensive treatment in December last year.
