Kylie Minogue Resumes her Australian Tour

38-year-old Australian pop diva, Kylie Minogue has returned to her homeland to resume the last leg of her world tour which she had to cut short 18 months ago, after she was diagnosed with breast cancer. The disease, caught in the early-stages, led Minogue to begin chemotherapy in May 2005 and she completed the treatment six months later in December of last year. Minogue has been using the time until now to rest and build up the energy and stamina that she needs for her ?Showgirl? tour, but which she says she is still lacking.

Kylie Minogue started her career in the popular soapie from Down Under, ?Neighbours? before becoming a pop star. She reached incredible heights in the 1980?s and 90?s, with her hit songs breaking industry records and her popularity spreading around the globe like wildfire. Throughout her career, Minogue was active in spreading the awareness of breast cancer to her millions of women fans. News of her cancer brought an outpouring of good wishes from all over the world.

Minogue is due to give a total of eight performances in Australia ? 3 in the Sydney Entertainment Center and another five in various locations around the country. From there, she will move across the ocean to the United Kingdom in January, where she will perform for six nights in the Wembley Arena. When she arrived at Sydney airport for the beginning of her tour, Minogue was elated and said, ?I?m thrilled to be back! I?ve been waiting for this day for such a long time?.
