Baywatch Staff Reunite for Special Occasion
After almost seven long years, the cast of the popular TV series "Baywatch" were together again. All past stars of the show gathered in a Santa Monica hotel for a special event marking the release of a DVD box set of the series. Baywatch was one of the most popular shows in the United States and was aired since 1989 through 2001. The show made the career of several celebrities, namely Pamela Anderson and David Hasselhoff.
Anderson was seen walking on the red carpet at the event, and was quoted as saying that the experience working on Baywatch was the best so far. It`s the best job in the world, being at the beach every day with my dog and my kids ... Nothing has compared to it since," said the 39-year-old star. Hasselhoff was also present at the event that took place just off the Pacific Ocean. When asked on the reason for the show being as successful as it was, Hasselhoff said that every episode of the show dealt with "heart, humor, and action." The star also noted that the show was about saving lives, as opposed to many of today`s shows that are dealing with taking them.
The show ran for about 11 years, and the staff formed into a family-like group. The leading star, Hasselhoff, also directed many of the episodes that aired. At one point during that period, the show was airing at all continents of the world, but Antarctica.
