Reeve`s Children to Continue Important Work

Christopher Reeve devoted his life to finding a cure for paralysis. The actor, who played Superman in the first series and will always be remembered for it, was seriously injured in 1995 during a horse riding accident, and was paralyzed ever since. He worked hard at promoting awareness for people with his condition, and on finding a cure. Reeve died in 2004, but now his children announced that they will pick up from where their father stopped.

Reeve`s children, Alexandra and Matthew Reeve, worked with their father as part of the Christopher Reeve Foundation`s board. The foundation funded research for various methods and therapies that concentrate on curing paralysis. "Our dad`s accident really did connect us to this community: 4 million people in the U.S. who are suffering from paralysis," said Alexandra. The family got involved in helping people with paralysis, and the children are saying that the work is not over.

Will Reeve, their 14-year-old half brother, will join Alexandra and Matthew in continuing Christopher Reeve`s work. The foundation will continue working in the same manner it was working before, with paralysis patients in mind. Hopefully, the growing efforts could assist people with paralysis, and maybe find the answer we are all looking for. It`s only symbolic that the children of "Superman" are working hard at helping humanity. This truly reflects their devotion, and the devotion of their father late father, Christopher Reeve.
