It seems that singing diva Whitney Houston has turned a new leaf. The entertainment star and musical artist is going it alone for the time being, with her famous friends swearing that her new good looks and temperament isn?t a fluke. After looking worn out and raggedy in ?Being Bobby Brown?, her estranged husband?s reality television show, Houston, now sporting a blonde hairdo, stunned Hollywood party attendees at a socialite Barbara Davis? annual Carousel of Hope ball.

?Whitney is through with all the negative stuff. She?s back, and she`s the greatest. Let me tell you: No one comes close,? said Quincy Jones. Houston, who filed divorce papers two weeks ago, sparkled in diamonds and black Armani. She also acted as quite the entertainment icon and every bit the lady, hugging everyone. She even hugged Halle Berry, who has diabetes (and was there with boyfriend Gabriel Aubry).

During the 14-year marriage the couple lived through, Brown had numerous run-ins with the law on drug and domestic-violence charges. Houston even had to enter rehab twice. While trying to balance a career, motherhood, and a difficult marriage, Houston has definitely been through some hard times, which the entertainment industry has been witness to. After many ups and downs, Houston is finally on the upswing in her life.
