Elizabeth Taylor Quells Rumors of a Ninth Marriage

Dame Liz Taylor, the 74-year-old actress who continues to make headlines, has had to come out and publicly deny that she is set to marry for the ninth time. The star has declared that she is not dating Firooz Zahedi, an ?old and dear? friend who acted as her personal photographer in the 1970?s. Taylor emphatically announced that ?We are not, never have been and will never be romantically involved?.

In May of this year, Liz Taylor was forced to appear on television to quell rumors that she was suffering from Alzheimer?s, a degenerative brain disease that affects memory and behavior. She explained that she used a wheelchair due severe back problems and osteoporosis but was continuing in her normal activities that include fundraising for AIDS awareness and a new venture designing jewelry.

The public can?t really be blamed for being more than a little curious about the men in Dame Taylor?s life. Her long list of husbands include hotel-chain heir, Nicky Hilton, actors Michael Wilding and Richard Burton (whom she married twice), John Warner ? who became US senator due to his marriage to the star ? and, most recently, a trucker by the name of Larry Fortensky. The couple ended their marriage in 1996 after five years together. With regards to the latest rumors of potential hubby number 9, Liz has stated that, for the time being, her private life and plans remain private.
