Ohio State University Welcomes Jon Stewart
Jon Stewart, the famous entertainment comedian known for his popular Comedy Central show, ?The Daily Show?, visited Ohio State University, and fielded questions from students at a special appearance Saturday. He decided to head to the university to cover the midterm elections which will take place on November 7th, 2006. This was quite the event for students as they welcomed one of their favorite entertainment icons to their school. Including correspondents Jason Jones and Samantha Bee, Stewart and the crew showed clips from the show and answered questions which were provided in advance.
?We wanted to go there because Ohio was so crucial last time. They were sort of the focal point, the swing state, if you will. We want to know what happened to all that loving attention that they were given in 2004, and if they feel lonely,? he told the Associated Press. He and his crew also showered students with questions about life in college, including whether pets and methamphetamine labs were allowed on campus.
The topic quickly turned to politics, with Stewart being asked by students if he would be disappointed when the current administration were to finally leave office, leaving him without comic material for his show. Stewart?s blunt ?No? cleared the air of any doubt. It seems that entertainment in the world of politics might not be big, but politics in the world of comedy and entertainment are surely the way to go, especially for comedians and public icons like Jon Stewart.
