Bono Uses His Status For Good

Entertainment moguls such as U2s Bono and Angelina Jolie are great helpers of humanity. Setting up funds to help the less fortunate, bringing awareness to causes and best of all, bringing in new entertainment big shots into the fight for world aid. You have got to love these amazing individuals who actually do good with the money that they have been incredibly lucky to earn. There are too few people in the cutthroat entertainment industry that actually lend a helping hand but it is always nice to hear about their latest efforts.

U2 lead singer Bono will edit UK newspaper The Independent newspaper for a day, to highlight the issue of Aids in Africa. The singer is already commissioning articles for many sections of his edition of the daily UK paper, to be published on 16 May. The Independent`s editor Simon Kelner said the paper would be "challenging and innovative".

Half the money ernt by the paper will be donated to Product Red, Bono`s initiative to improve healthcare. A spokesman for Bono told the paper: "He is tickled to be let loose on such a great paper. He`s enjoying using the talents of its journalists to explore issues that are vital to him."
