Columbia County Council 11th Annual Juried Art Show
The Columbia County Council on the Arts` Annual Juried Art Show is back, and in its 11th year. Artist members are encouraged by the council to submit their work for possible inclusion in the show, which is held each year at the Hudson Opera House in March. Different jurors are invited annually to review applicants` work and award prizes. The show is widely attended by county residents as well as visitors and tourists.
Of the 127 CCCA artist members who submitted work to this years show, 29 were chosen to participate, Joseph Attardo, Arlene Boehm, Ken Brady, Kate Butler, Mark Caluneo, Victoria Moran Caluneo, Giovanni DiMola, Barbara Docktor, Susan Elias, Andres Fortino, Linda Gordetsky, Christine Guarino, Linda Horn, Ruth Leonard, Giovanna Lepore, Thomas Lindley, Martha Lloyd, Trent Miller, Chris Neumann, Phyllis Gay Palmer, Michael Rose, Jon Schluenz, Leon Smith, Leslie Tapsak, Anthony Thompson, Marlene Vidibor, Carrie Waldman, Timothy Wheeler, and Win Zibeon.
The 11th Annual Juried Art Show is sponsored for the second time by The School of Visual Arts in New York, and was also made possible with public funds from the New York State Council on the Arts, a State agency. Columbia County Council on the Arts` mission is to produce programs that advance the arts and engage our county`s residents and visitors, provide services that support our county`s cultural organizations`, artists` and residents` participation in the arts and build collaborative partnerships with the county and beyond. CCCA also provides a wide range of services that support cultural organizations, artists and residents. Works in five different categories were accepted: Sculpture, Painting, Works on Paper, Mixed Media, and Photography. Awards in the amount of $500 for Best of Show along with $250 for First Place and $100 for Second Place prizes will be presented in each of the five mediums at 6pm on Saturday, March 4th.
