The Entertainment Industry and Suffering Nations

Everyone who knows anything about the entertainment industry is aware of all the money that the biggest A-listers have given to charities. For proof of this all you have to do is look at stars such as Angelina Jolie. The entertainment mega-celeb even gave birth to her first natural child in Namibia in order to bring awareness to the poor African country. When Angelina, and her boyfriend, left the country they made sure to donate $300,000 to maternity wards in the nation`s hospitals.

In addition to the $300,000 donation, the couple also sold pictures of their baby to People and Hello!, to popular entertainment magazines. The price tags are not 100% but it is believed that People paid around $4 million. The couple did not keep this money however, they made sure that every last cent from both entertainment magazines made its way to African-related charities.

Angelina and Brad aren`t the only entertainment stars who use their names to help the world. People such as Oprah, Bill Gates and Steven Spielberg have donated millions to charities across the globe. It seems that many people in the entertainment industry have realized that they don`t need the millions, and sometimes billions, that they make. They understand that there are starving people out there who could live their entire lives off of a tenth of a single paycheck.
