Nelly Furtado is Better Than Ever

Nelly Furtado had long ago conquered the entertainment world with her Grammy Award-winning single "I`m Like a Bird" and others. Despite her strong love to hip-hop, R&B and dance music, which she grew up with, in her own albums there is very little of these music styles. Instead, her 2001 multiplatinum debut, "Whoa, Nelly," is more of an eclectic pop and there are folky roots in its less successful follow-up, "Folklore."

"Even though I loved hip-hop so much, I think I had a bias for a while, because I wanted to prove myself as a musician who would use 40 different instruments on one album and a lot of hip-hop people don`t do that, and therefore, they don`t get as much respect," says the entertainment star. "I really wanted to earn that certain type of musical respect from a certain listener for a long time. Now, since I proved myself in that way, I feel a lot of freedom to do the music I really love."

Now her new album, "Loose", released earlier this summer, is climbing up the entertainment and music charts with its first single "Promiscuous". The entertainment critics see it continuing staying number one for quite a time, and Nelly herself thinks "Loose", which she co-wrote and produced, will have the biggest reaction of all her albums. She is glad that things are changing for her and that she isn`t staying at the same place. Even her outfits, as well as her music had changed and she is now dresses much more sexy.
