DeVito Hits the Small Screen

Danny DeVito, the entertainment star, played Louie De Palma on the TV comedy "Taxi". Loui was a guy audiences loved to hate ? rough, unbearable boss who would torture his employees at the Sunshine Cab Co. with sadistic joy. More than 2 decades since then, DeVito returns to television entertainment as a TV-series regular, playing a more lovable role of Frank Reynolds on the second season of the FX comedy "It`s Always Sunny in Philadelphia".

Apart from a few appearances (such as in "Friends") DeVito did not participate in TV entertainment series work, but concentrated on acting in movies, as well as directing and producing. But all that time he has been longing to return to the TV. "I was always looking for something that was exciting, something to give me the juice to be with actors on a stage," he says.

The "Sunny" show is about four friends around their 30s ? Mac, Dennis, Charlie and Sweet Dee ? who run a dive bar in Philadelphia. DeVito`s character, Dennis and Sweet Dee`s estranged father, Frank, enters the foursome`s lives after announcing that he and his wife (Anne Archer) are getting divorced. He wants to bond with his kids, whom he all but ignored for 30 years. With this "starry" addition to the show, it is sure to be even more successful than it is now. Stay tuned for a possible great 30 minutes of Danny DeVito entertainment.
