`Pipeline` Horror Flick Shooting Becomes Real Tragedy

Director Jordan Alan has created a new horror thriller, about the power of the sea. The film showed an eery similarity as as a young pro-surfer died last week on the north shore. The same story is portrayed in the fictional film.

The shooting which began in 2004 has spanned through this year, and strangly enough life imitated art on this tragic day. A pro surfer, Malik Joyeux, unexpectedly died while in pre-competition at Pipeline. The film which will be shot through the next several months will continue to shoot on the North Shore, and is slated for a possible Summer 2006 release.

Upcoming thriller `Pipeline`, directed by the famed and controversial director, Jordan Alan (Kiss & Tell, Terminal Bliss, Cat`s Cradle, Love & Happiness) came out of a break to begin shooting last week, on the North Shore of Hawaii. Inspired by actual events, this film tells the story of six childhood friends who paddled into the waves at Banzai Pipeline on the night of October 14th, 2001...only five paddled back to shore...four years later, the survivors are haunted by the memory of what they vowed to forget. This story, one of life lessons learned and the life and death power of the ocean, is recreated through credited actresses (Amanda Righetti, Hannah Cornett-adidas sponsored triathlete/surfer, and an upcoming list of pro-surfers).
