CD Debut `EP` from Amy Kuney
Amy Kuney`s new, soon-to-be released, self-penned, debut CD, is simply called EP, and is already drawing a great deal of attention. On February 8th, on the famous NBC daytime soap opera `Passions`, a track from the CD, `So Help Me God`, will be aired. For a 21-year-old independent artist, this is quite an impressive feat.
The little girl that was inspired by the Hanson hit `MmmBop` is now a beautiful young woman with a voice that is bound to turn heads for many years to come. EP, Amy?s six-song debut CD, displays a voice that is mature beyond its years. Her upbringing must have had something to do with its rapid maturity rate. At the age of 13, she and her family packed everything up, left Tulsa, Oklahoma, and relocated to Honduras, where her parents became missionaries. As Amy reflects upon that life changing experience, she realizes how it is paying dividends later in her life and in her music.
Amy puts everything into proper perspective by saying, `Part of me is still that naive American teenager who knows the Starbucks menu by heart and purposely tears holes in her jeans to be `cool`. The other part of me is over in a third world country giving rice to kids with swollen tummies. Both parts of me are apparent in my songs and, sometimes, it is hard to balance them out, but, I think that is what makes me truly and erroneously real.`
