R.B. McKenzie Brings `Gettysburg` to the Internet
R.B. McKenzie, an accomplished artist who began painting at a young age, is making his once private paintings available in limited edition online for all of the world to see. These limited, hand-signed prints will be sold until all 20 battlefield prints enter the lives of other American Civil War enthusiasts.
At a battlefield reenactment in 1990, Robert decided to show some friends the paintings he had made. The response was overwhelming in that he realized his paintings of Civil War Battlefields could evoke the same feelings that he experienced as a child. Robert, however, would not sell his originals. In late 2005, Robert decided to bring `Gettysburg` to life and online.
When Robert was 15, he was given an oil painting set and some old brushes by his father. He then began to paint the beautiful landscapes that poured from these brushes, but Robert would never sell his paintings. `They were for me. I wanted to preserve the memories I had as a child.`
