Latest Bond breaks record

The latest of the James bond series, "Casino Royale" staring Daniel Craig in his debut as agent 007, is officially the most successful in the history of James Bond films. The 21st Bond film has generating $454 million in box office sales worldwide. The previous record was held by "Die Another Day" (2002), which made $431 million.

Before it came out to the cinemas, the casting of Craig as the new Bond was criticized and it was not clear how successful the movie will be. It has since been screened in no less than 64 countries, and received great reviews by movie critics and the audience, which basically voted by going to the cinema to watch the flick.

The blue eyed and fair haired actor who plays bond in the new flick based on the first Ian Fleming bond book has performed so well that it has earned him comparisons to some of the greatest past Bond actors, namely Sean Connery. Its box office success makes it one of only four films in 2006 to make over $300 million.
