George Michael Performs for NHS Nurses

In a special concert that ended his world tour, pop singer, George Michael performed in front of a relatively small group of British National Health Service nurses. The concert was Michael?s way of saying thank you to the nurses for caring for his late mother while she was ill. 2000 invited people attended the event that took place in North London last week.

The show began with English comedian, Catherine Tate, dressed in a nurse?s uniform, introducing the star. All of the audience was excited to see George Michael who has performed for 25 years ? first as part of the popular 80?s duo, ?Wham!? and then with a successful solo career. Michael performed a variety of songs that spanned his entire singing career and his performance was met with wild applause.

George Michael did not hide his admiration for the nurses in the audience. ?This evening is 100% me saying `thank you` to you,? he said during the performance, ?"Thank you for everything you do - some people appreciate it. Now if we can only get the government to do the same thing." George Michael?s career has not been without controversy. He has regularly advocated the use of cannabis and has been arrested in the past for soliciting an undercover policeman in Los Angeles.
