Kitty Kelly to Chronicle Oprah?s Life Story
There is probably no woman more famous in the United States that Oprah Winfrey. Voted in 1996 by Life magazine as the most influential woman of her generation, Oprah Winfrey?s daily talk show has been running successfully for more than 20 years and is watched by 30 million viewers worldwide. Winfrey, 52, is also a successful magazine publisher and was nominated for an Oscar for her role in the movie, ?The Color Purple?.
Famous biographer, Kitty Kelly, has decided that the time has come to chronicle the life of Oprah Winfrey and is set to write her life story. Kelly is known in literary circles as a ?vicious? biographer. She is famous for her vigorous research methods and her works are always filled with ?dirty washing?. Kelly?s subjects have included the Bush Family (she claimed that George W. Bush snorted cocaine while his father was president) and Elizabeth Taylor. Her book about the English royal family was considered so explosive that it was never published in the United Kingdom and her lawyers warned her not to speak to British reviewers.
Many are wondering whether Kitty Kelly?s work on Oprah will involve dragging the star through the mud or celebrating her position in American society. Kitty has admitted that Winfrey fascinates her. ?There has been no other person in the 20th century whose convictions and values have impacted the American public in such a significant way," Kelly has said.
