Kate Winslet Says No to Super Thin Woman

Kate Winslet, the famous Hollywood actress, says she feels that the glorification of super thin "size zero" models and actresses is "unbelievably disturbing". The actress also added that she keeps magazines with super thin women portrayed in them away from her daughter of 6-year-old.

"It`s so disturbing because young girls are impressionable from 11 up to 19 or 20 even. Women are very impressionable at those ages," Winslet told British the BBCB. "They`re trying to figure out who they are, and they want to be loved, and what I resent is that there is an image of perfection that is getting thinner and thinner, and it`s truly upsetting to me. I hope that in some small way I`m able to say, `I`m a normal person, I`m doing all right.`" she added she`s "got a lovely husband and children," and that she, "didn`t lose weight to find those things, and those things are what should be important."

Kate Winslet is a BAFTA Award-winning English actress. She is well known for playing a wide range of different characters. Her best known role is Rose DeWitt Bukater in the box-office-smash-hit, Titanic. Her first role was playing Juliet Hulme in Heavenly Creatures in 1994.
Winslet has never won an Academy Award, but she has been highly regarded by the Academy. There have been only two occasions where two actors playing the same character in the same film have both been nominated for an Oscar, Winslet was a nominee in both instances (for "Titanic" and "Iris").
