Bruce Lee?s Memory to be Honored by Theme Park

Nobody who grew up as a child in the 60s and early 70s can forget the action-packed films starring Bruce Lee. The Chinese-American star enthralled his audiences with incredible kung-fu acrobatics as he battled his enemies on screen, always coming out the good guy and proving that goodness conquers all. The entertainment world was horrified when Bruce Lee died in 1973 at the incredibly young age of 32 after suffering from a swelling of the brain, also known as cerebral edema.

Bruce Lee?s films have become true classics and his fans have never forgotten his contribution to the movie industry. Even more than 30 years later, Bruce Lee is still considered a legend. Recently, his fan club chairman, Mr. Wong Yiu-keung, announced that a theme park is due to be build in Bruce Lee?s honor, to commemorate what would have been his 65th birthday. The park will be built in Lee?s ancestral home, in Shunde, near Hong Kong and will also include a martial arts academy and memorial hall.

The park will cost approximately 200 Million Chinese Yen to build ? or 13-million GB Pounds. While a corner stone laying ceremony, attended by Lee?s brother, was held in Hong Kong, nobody could confirm who would be funding the theme park and academy. Although Bruce Lee was born in the United States, the Chinese still consider him ?one of theirs? as he moved to Hong Kong as a child and his films were made famous in China.
