`Borat` road trip goes all the way
Jagshimash! This November, Sacha Baron Cohen will release his latest treat and this time it`s a two hour long feature film, modestly titled: `Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan`. It definitely deserves an extra large helping of hype as it is executed in a manner that will be sure to pin you to the floor with uncontrollable laughter. It simply is that funny.
It is a story about the American journey of Borat Sagdiyev, a Kazakhstani TV personality and supposedly the sixth most popular citizen in Kazakhstan. Along his exciting road trip, he meets a variety of interesting characters and takes us on a roller coaster ride of unconventional and crude humor.
Borat`s character is familiar to many from the popular `Ali G show`, and in `Borat` he continues to exploit the complete lack of knowledge about Kazakhstan and its culture among those he comes in contact with, which allows him to do, or say, whatever is on his mind. Borat`s guests willingly accept his outrageous anti Semitic displays, not to mention the misogyny, and rarely reject his actions. Instead, they take the time and try to explain the standard western values. Bottom line, most people are afraid of offending him by being intolerant to what they perceive to be cultural differences, so they play along and create some classic comedic bits.
To make a long but enjoyable story short, the film tells the heart warming story of Borat, who leaves his mother, wife and town rapist to come to America, brings his obese friend Azamat along and falls in love with Pamela Anderson. Definitely an interesting story, coming from a character who describes his ideal mate as having at least some plough experience, no history of mental retardation in the family, and "Not a Jew".
