Sixth Sense star faces DUI charges
After being involved in a minor car crash on the 20th of July, `Sixth sense` star Haley Joel Osment is expected to make a full recovery after fracturing his rib and hurting his shoulder. In the early hours of the morning and on his way home from a MUSE concert, Osment allegedly lost control of his vehicle, crashed into a mailbox and flipped over. He was hospitalized following the incident.
Since last week, the actor has not only the physical trauma to endure. The 18 year old is facing a very uncomfortable situation involving charges of driving under the influence and marijuana possession. Vehicle code infraction is added to the list as well, as he is younger than the age of 21 while driving under an excessive blood-alcohol level. With these accusations, the actor faces up to six months in jail. His trial is scheduled for September 16, 2006.
The young and talented actor has earned a reputation in the industry for unspoiled professionalism. Long before he started `seeing dead people` in 1999, he already landed a small role in `Forest Gump` as Tom Hanks` son At the young age of 11 years old he earned an Academy Award nomination for best supporting actor, which subsequently made him a star.
