The entertainment world had rewarded the actor and director Clint Eastwood has been with a special honor in Los Angeles for his contributions to the western genre. The 76-years-old entertainment star received the Founder`s Award at the Golden Boot Awards, which recognize people who have championed cowboy storylines in film or television. Eastwood, who earned an Academy Award for his film Unforgiven, was given the trophy by another Oscar-winner, Morgan Freeman.
He is only the second director ever to receive the Founder`s Award. The other was John Ford, who received his award for western classics such as The Searchers. The entertainment award has been handed out only eight times in the ceremony`s 24-year history. The event is organized by the Motion Picture and Television Fund, which provides healthcare and benefits for entertainment world figures. Trophies were also presented to actors Ann-Margret, Joan Leslie, Powers Boothe and Wes Studi. Director Leslie H Martinson - who was involved in the Roy Rogers Show in the 1950s - was also recognized.
Clint Eastwood, who is regarded in the entertainment industry as one of the greatest actors of all time, remains also a sex symbol for many women, and the years have not made him any less virile. He once said, "I like to joke that since my children weren`t giving me any grandchildren, I had two of my own. It is a terrific feeling being a dad again at my age. I am very fortunate. I realize how unfair a thing it is that men can have children at a much older age than women."
