Young Author in Feline Story Debut

Sixth-grader Steven Fiedler is on Spring Break this week like millions of other kids. But instead of vegging out in front of the TV or a video game, he?s finishing up his second novel. Steven?s first book, Cat Boy ? about an 11-year-old boy who turns into a cat ? was just published.

He?s not planning to be a one-book wonder, either. "I read that J. K. Rowling made a billion dollars from writing Harry Potter, and I thought maybe I could do something like that too", Steven said.

While many parents would smile patronizingly if their child said something like that, Steven?s parents were so impressed by his first draft of Cat Boy that they decided to publish it themselves. With dedication like that from young Fiedler, and the support of his parents, is it any wonder this kid is on his way to success?
