Spoken-word concert to be held in Baltimore

You have a chance to join some of the Baltimore area`s most prolific and entertaining spoken word and neo soul artists on Saturday, May 6, 2006 at ?Signs Of The Times ? Lyrical Soul In Concert?. This memorable evening is one you cannot afford to miss, and will take place at Center Stage?s Pearlstone Theater, located at 700 North Calvert Street in Baltimore, Maryland.

Hosted by Ad-Lib, this event features E The Poet Emcee and Love, both of Torchlight Entertainment, The J-Rock Project featuring J S.O.U.L and Ab-Rock, Olu Butterfly, The 5th L featuring Chuck The Madd Ox and The Next Movement. Each artist brings a unique gift to the microphone in their performance styles ? from Ad-Lib?s verses that are created while you watch.

While spoken word has enjoyed a fair amount of press recently on the national level thanks largely in part to Russell Simmons? ?Def Poetry Jam?, performance poetry and its musical counterparts have existed for a long time. Baltimore possesses an active poetry community that does it all -- offering opportunities for everyone to experience spoken word any night of the week at ?open mics? (for the public).
